Ceremonies pay tribute to U.S. armed forces

American Legion Post 26 Commander Tom Coester and Legion representative William Luckraft raise the Stars and Stripes as students from East Elementary School render honors during a Veterans Day ceremony on Friday. Schools across Mountain Home held similar observances to pay respect to the men and women of the U.S. armed forces.

One... two... three..

The solemn chime from the bell broke the calm as a light breeze caused dozens of flags to gently flap in the air.

Four... five... six...

William Luckraft continued to strike the large, brass bell as hundreds of people stood in silence as the tradition continued.
