Council OKs zoning change

Changes to local zoning laws and flood hazard protection gained approval by the city council during a public meeting Oct. 24.

The new land use ordinance is limited to local businesses and allows them to set aside exterior storage areas in the rear or interior yard areas of their property as long as they have a fence, wall or hedge to act as a screen.
