Gary Padgett

Gary D. Padgett, 65, of Mountain Home, died Oct. 28, 2016. No services will be held at Gary's request. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Gary was born Nov. 26, 1950, in Glasgow, Mont., to Dean Padgett and Georgene Wheeler. In 1957, Gary moved with his family to Boise.

Gary loved music and during his high school years. He played guitar and sang with a Boise band, The Blue Dimensions. They played in the Boise and surrounding areas. The band participated in the battle of the bands at Gary's Sugar Shack in Mountain Home in the mid 60s.

Gary lived in Oregon and Washington and returned to Boise in 1983. He worked as an electrician in the family business for several years. Gary then worked for the Hospital Corporation of America, electrical division and lived in Iowa and Tennessee.

Upon returning to Idaho in 1988, Gary worked in the electrical union from 1988 to 2010 and resided in Mountain Home.

Gary loved football, boxing, fishing and spending time with family and friends and his faithful dog, Roxy.

Gary is survived by his son, Dean; stepchildren Sarah and Shaun; grandson Aron; his sister, Donna; and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Padgett and Georgene and Voyle Davis; his brother, Don; his sister, Brenda; his nephew, Billie; and his niece, Jackie.
