Leads sought into car window shootings

Friday, October 28, 2016

Mountain Home police continue to search for leads into a series of crimes involving car windows that were shot out over a period of several hours earlier this month.

Eight car windows were broken along North 3rd East Street between the 900 and 1900 blocks with two more cases were reported in the vicinity of North Haskett and West 5th North streets.

Police investigators believe the shootings are connected and happened between the late hours of Oct. 11 and into the morning of Oct. 12. In each case, those responsible used a pellet or BB gun, said police department spokesman Cpl. Stan Winings.

Investigators also believe the shootings were done at random and were not specifically targeting individuals. Winings added that the perpetrators specifically shot out the driver's side window of each vehicle.

Those with any additional information regarding the incidents are asked to call the police department at 587-2101 or the county dispatch office at 587-2100. People can also submit anonymous tips on the department's website at www.mhpd.net under the "silent witness" link.
