Tigers place at Elko run

The Mountain Home Tigers wrapped up their cross country season on a positive foot with four runners placing in the top 10 during the Elko Invitational on Thursday.

Mountain Home finished third overall in the men's varsity 5,000-meter race, with Spring Creek and Elko claiming the top two seats.

Anthony DeSantis was the top runner for the Tigers, completing the race in 17 minutes, 27 seconds, to finish fourth overall.

Jacob Criddle was seventh at 17:40 while Kyle Pendleton trailed by three seconds to cross the finish line in eighth.

Others competing in the men's 5,000-meter for the Tigers were Ethan Ingram at 19:21, Jordan Klein with 19:22, Aaron Yost at 19:51, Hank Parrett with 20:05 and Bryce Sloan at 22:01.

In the women's varsity 5,000-meter run, Kjnara Swanson was the fastest Tiger at the race and crossed the finish line in 21 minutes, 11 seconds, to finish seventh overall.

Alexis Georgianna came in 11th place at 22:18 for the Tigers, Camille Ochoa was 14th at 22:46 while Makayla Clark finished in the 40th position at 25:51.

The Tigers are now setting their sights on the District 4A cross country tournament, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 27 at Eagle Island State Park in Eagle. The state tournament is set to follow on Oct. 29 in Poctatello.
