Vikings crush Tigers in season finale

The Mountain Home Tigers saw their offensive line crumble after Middleton unleashed a 30-point opening half rally as the Vikings dominated the field in a 58-0 shutout Friday evening.

The Vikings completed a 46-yard pass play in the opening quarter to get on the scoreboard. The Tigers successfully deflected the point-after kick to limit Middleton to a 6-0 lead.

During the second quarter, the Vikings continued to dominate the field with a 25-yard pass that Middleton converted to its second touchdown. The point-after kick succeeded to extend the lead to 13.

A 10-yard run play minutes later allowed the Vikings to score with the point-after kick giving the team a 20-0 advantage. On the next possession, Middleton completed a 15-yard touchdown pass and the point-after kick to move ahead by 27 points.

Middleton wrapped up the first half by successfully completing a 46-yard field goal to head into the locker room with a comfortable 30-0 lead.

The Vikings returned to the field at the start of the third quarter to continue to extend their lead. A 19-yard pass and successful point-after kick put Middleton up, 37-0.

On their next possession, the Vikings once again found the endzone on a 26-yard run with the extra-point kick giving them a 44-point advantage.

Middleton sealed the game in the fourth during a 22-yard run for a touchdown with the Vikings' kicker once again splitting the uprights. The game came to a close as Middleton completed a two-yard run with the point-after kick again finding its mark.

The Vikings dominated the field on offense with 408 total yards on 47 plays compared to the Tigers, who accumulated just 71 yards off 42 plays.

The Vikings averaged nearly 18 yards by completing eight of their 11 passes while Mountain Home completed just two of its 10 attempts.

Middleton saw similar success on its run plays with 266 yards of rushing on 36 plays with the Tigers earning just 52 yards on 32 attempts.

Turnovers cost the Tigers during the game with two fumbles and three interceptions.

The Tigers finished the regular season with a 1-9 record. Their sole victory happened Oct. 7 when they pummeled the visiting Caldwell Cougars during a 30-14 win.
