Tigers place at local invite

Taking advantage of competing on their own turf, several Tigers set personal bests as they faced teams across southern Idaho during a yearly cross country meet held Friday.

Held at the Desert Canyon Golf Course, the Mountain Home Invitational featured four 5,000-meter races for men's and women's varsity and junior varsity squads.

Mountain Home had just one competitor in the JV races with Bryce Sloan finishing 48th overall while setting a personal record, crossing the finish line at 21 minutes, 59.40 seconds.

In the men's varsity race, Mountain Home trailed the competing teams with 106 points. North Star Charter and Timberline shared the top spot with Ridgevue and Victory Charter tied for second and Nampa rounding out the top three.

Anthony DeSantis led the Tigers while setting a personal record of 16:57.30 to finish fourth overall.

Jacob Criddle was 14th at 17:53.80 while Kyle Pendleton came in 21st place at 18:09.50. Others participating in the varsity race were Jordan Klein at 19:05.60, Ethan Ingram with a personal best of 19:11.70, Aaron Yost at 20:18.20 and Hank Parrett with a personal record of 20:19.40.

In the women's 5,000 meter varsity race, Mountain Home was third overall with 80 points. North Star Charter and Timberline tied for first with Nampa coming in second.

Kjnara Swanson was the first Lady Tiger to complete the run, finishing sixth overall at 21 minutes, 30.80 seconds. Alexis Georgianna was seventh at 21:32.50 with Camille Ochoa placing 13th at 22:21.90.

Other Lady Tigers competing that afternoon were Joy Findley with a personal best of 24:11.80 and Makayla Clark with a personal record of 25:46.

The Tigers wrap up their regular season on Thursday, Oct. 13, as they head to Elko, Nev., to compete in the Elko Invitational.
