The Lady Tigers saw some mixed results the field during the second half of their regular season as they crushed Vallivue and Emmett but fell to Skyview last week.

Mountain Home 5, Vallivue 2

Originally scheduled for Sept. 22, the Lady Tigers had to postpone their away game at Vallivue due to weather. With action resuming on their home turf Sept. 26, Mountain Home roared into action as senior Jacey Carr sents in a corner kick to junior Gisselle Raddatz, who made the team's first goal just one minute, five seconds, into the game.

Vallivue answered base with their own goal before Lady Tigers' senior Elizabeth Ryan and junior Clarissa Lucas perfected the offside trap. This was an advantage to Mountain Home because it gave Ryan a free kick to senior Violet Martinez, who made the break away to score again for the Lady Tigers.

But the Lady Falcons were not going down without a fight, scoring again right before the half.

However, Mountain Home dominated the field in the second half with Carr taking the ball up the side, crossing it to Martinez who scored the Lady Tigers' third goal. Vallivue looked like it would score a goal with the goalie taken out of the play, but senior Anna Pedroza prevented that third goal.

With Mountain Home fired up, Carr made her third assist to junior Lexi Ogaard, putting the Lady Tigers up by two. But Mountain Home wasn't ready to call it quits.

Pedroza made the offside trap to send the ball to Martinez, who scored the final goal of the game with 15 minutes left to play. Freshmen goalie Elizabeth Bearden had 11 saves during the game, putting much work into the 5-2 win for the Lady Tigers.

Mountain Home 1, Skyview 3

Heading back on the road Sept. 27, Mountain Home expected to face some tough competition from the Lady Hawks. It looked like those predictions were correct after Skyview put in the first goal 18 minutes into the match.

Both defenses focused in and fought for the next 22 minutes, leaving the score 0-1 in Skyview's favor at the half. Early in the second, Skyview's coach got yellow carded after Mountain Home sent the ball into an offensive play.

A Skyview player gained control of the ball, giving the Lady Tigers a direct kick. After the kick, Ryan took the ball into the goal, tying up the game.

Skyview was quick on the rebound as one of the Lady Hawks got tangled up with goalie Tayde Rodriguez, who took her out of the goal line and put in the second goal.

The Lady Hawks would go on to score another goal later in the half to seal the win. Bearden had five saves during the first half for Mountain Home with Rodriguez earning three in the second half.

Mountain Home 8, Emmett 0

The Lady Tigers hosted Emmett on Thursday as the Mountain Home team celebrated senior night. Before announcing the team's seven seniors that afternoon, a storm rolled in with the team left with no choice but to hold the ceremony in the rain.

Martinez opened up the game with a break away, scoring the Lady Tigers' first goal. The excitement began as Mountain Home continued to roll their way to victory.

Martinez passed the ball over to senior Jordan Page, who scored the team's second goal. A few minutes later, Martinez played the ball up on top for another goal.

Just before halftime, sophomore Maddison Modde entered the game, recovering a missed shot on goal and scored a fourth goal for the Lady Tigers. After the break, Mountain Home came back out on the field smiling and enjoying the denomination.

Coach Curtis Viall moved Ryan from defense to a forward, which didn't take her long to put in the team's fifth goal. Sophomore defender Asia Jackson sent the ball to senior Nicole Milford, who put the Lady Tigers up by six.

By now, all of the seniors had a desire to score for Mountain Home. Senior Anna Pedroza crossed the ball over to Carr, who added a seventh goal for the Lady Tigers. Carr and Pedroza then passed the ball back and forth in front of the goal with Pedroza trying to score and Carr ending making the goal.

At this point, Rodriguez was moved from goalie to a forward position so she could have opportunities to score. However, the clock ran out of time, and Rodriguez ended the game with three goalie saves as the Lady Tigers won their senior night, 8-0.

The Lady Tigers returned to action on Tuesday as they faced Ridgevue on the road. They finish out the regular season Thursday, Oct. 6, as they take on the Bishop Kelly Lady Knights.
