Letter to the Editor

Complacency will ruin U.S.

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

Dear editor,

Very good editorial by Brian last week ("Where were you when...?, Sept. 14 Mountain Home News). Lots of folks feel that same way.

But America won't just fall as the editorial indicated. It's being given away by the complacent and the indoctrinated even as we speak. We don't question things anymore. We accept the double standards passed down from Washington and we surrender our rights one by one in the name of "political correctness."

We laugh at "Watter's World" as we once laughed at Jay Leno's "Jaywalking," but it's not at all funny because they also vote. Borders are intentionally left open and "refugees" un-vetted in order to build a new voting bloc that can never again be numerically challenged.

If you think the borders are wide open for any other reason, you obviously believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy as well.

Nobody says anything for fear of "offending" non-Americans, and few are willing to do anything about it. They're saying, "Let the other guy do it while I enjoy my milk and honey and smoke my joint."

We're told to be "vigilant" and report anything that looks suspicious, but does that include Washington, D.C.? It should, which is where the greatest threat to our country resides. We should deport the RINOs and liberals ahead of the illegals.

If our founders had been as complacent and gullible as we collectively are today, we'd still be subjects rather than citizens. If you don't know the difference between the two, do your grandkids a favor and stay away from the ballot box.

We need to vote for our kids and grandkids this time, who are not "inheriting" the same America our folks gave to us. Or are we just going to go to the polls and make another "fashion statement?"

And that seems to work pretty well, doesn't it?
