Benefitting Meals on Wheels

Saturday, September 3, 2016

Representatives with the Healing Hearts of Idaho quilting group pose with some of the roughly 70 place mats they created during a presentation at the Mountain Home Senior Center on Aug. 19. The homemade mats will be presented to local residents that receive meals from the senior center each week through its Meals on Wheels program. Since 2008, the Healing Hearts of Idaho have provided various homemade products to different organizations in Mountain Home and surrounding communities. This includes special pillow cases for St. Luke's Regional Medical Center's pediatric oncology ward, baby blankets and quilts for Bennett Mountain High School's daycare center and pet cushions for the Elmore County Humane Society. The quilting group meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Western Elmore County Recreation District office.
