City council rescinds 'adults only' ballfield resolution

A measure making some city baseball fields limited to adult use was rescinded last week as the city council addressed a number of issues that focused on local parking ordinance and handicapped access of city parks.

Earlier this year, the city's park and recreation advisory board asked the city council to approve a plan to restrict the use of the three ballfields at Optimist Park to "adults only."

    What a strange decision that was made and luckily reversed. I saw a video where the Parks n Rec director was asked who complained and what the scheduling issue was. Both of which he failed to address. Maybe it is time for some change in that department. Just this taxpayer's opinion.
