Area saw mixed news over festival's economic impact

With its second year under its belt, the Mountain Home Country Music Festival benefitted some local area businesses while others saw fewer customers and lower sales over that weekend, according to officials that oversee economic development for Mountain Home and Elmore County.

"For an area that's seasonally impacted by the weather, businesses in the Pine-Featherville corridor were happy to see an influx of people this year," said Bonnie Layton, economic development director for Elmore County. "One area business owner reported that, for them, it was like having another Fourth of July weekend in Pine.
