County fair officials note higher participation

Members from the Canyon Creek Bark 'N' Moo 4-H Club took home a lot of ribbons from this year's fair. Among them from left, were Brittany Craig and her one-year-old mini horse, Izzy; Reece Garner, who came to the fair with Pebbles, a one year old goat; and Kiersten Hughes, who had the chance to showed Dolly, a two-year-old miniature horse.

Festivities and events wrapped up early Sunday morning after a concert and dance at the Elmore County Fairgrounds, but the afterglow from many of the people who attended the fair is expected to live on for quite some time.

County fair manager Rena Kerfoot said the entire week of events "surpassed our wildest expectations" for attendance in addition to the response fair officials got from many of the fair goers.
