Mountain Home police officers respond to a two-vehicle crash at the corner of Jackson Street and North 2nd East Street on Friday afternoon. According to police spokesperson Officer Melanie Broughton, a car driven by Shasta Esposito was driving westbound on East Jackson Street and stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of North 2nd East Street around 1:30 p.m. However, eyewitnesses said she then ran the red light and was struck by a 2008 Honda Sonata. Both vehicles then collided with the corner of the Mellen Hotel building, causing minor damage. Esposito and two juvenile passengers in the second vehicle were taken to St. Luke's Elmore Medical Center where they were treated and released. Tests are pending to determine whether Esposito was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
