Learning to bowl

Friday, July 15, 2016

Charles Fogleman watches as the ball knocks down seven pins as the seven year old makes his first attempt at bowling during a practice session on Friday. Fogleman was one of 20 children enrolled in the city parks and recreation department's adventure camp program to try out the new equipment last week. A local bowling league teamed up with the city parks and recreation department to buy six carpet bowling lanes, which are designed to teach the fundamental of the sport to local youth. The Elmore County U.S. Bowling Congress raised $500 from a recent bake sale and donated that money to buy the bowling lanes.
