Master Sergeant Katherine A. Carrott, age 68 of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at St. Luke's Elmore Hospital.

On Friday, July 15, 2016, a viewing was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a funeral service with full military honors began at 1 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Inurnment will be held will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise at a later date.

Katherine was born on May 12, 1948, in New York City to the later Melvin and Theodosia Ryals. She retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2001 after 26 years of distinguished military service to her country.

She graduated from Boise State University with Bachelor Degrees in Political Science and Socialism in 2010. She was a devoted and faithful member of Love Abiding Christian Church.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Peter Carrott of Mountain Home; her sister, Vanassa McKinney of Augusta, Ga.; her daughter, Krystal Bellinger Martinelli of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and her son, Thomas Bellinger of Boise. She is survived by her grandchildren, Monet McMorris of Wiesbaden, Germany; Isabella Martinelli of Sunnyvale, Calif.; Jazzlyn Johnson of Salinas, Calif.; Montae Bellinger of Boise; two great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Kaylani McMorris of Wiesbaden, Germany; her niece, Latiba Cummings; and nephews Corta Johnson and Rasheed Ryals. She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother, Melvin Ryals Jr.
