Susan E. Black, age 56 of Mountain Home, passed away in White Bird, Idaho, on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.

Susan was born in Moberly, Mo., and moved to Mountain Home age the age of 19. She lived a full life, having two sons and a wonderful close family. She was a nurse and worked in the medical field for many years.

She spent the last and the happiest years of her life with her husband, Lonnie Black. She never met a wild flower or morel mushroom she could not resist picking.

She passed away at their cabin in White Bird, where she spent countless hours enjoying sunsets and all the simple and beautiful things nature offered. She was a selfless person who devoted her life to her marriage and her boys.

She made sure her boys wanted for nothing. She will be missed more than she could ever imagine.

Susan is survived by her husband, Lonnie Black of Mountain Home; son Kane Scott and his wife, Sarah of Mountain Home; her son, Tyler Scott of Boise; her mother, Betty Lou Udderbach of Missouri; her sister, Mary Freeman of Missouri; and various nieces, nephews and cousins here and in Missouri. And a very special bond with her cousin, Cheri, and friend, Faye.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Freeman, stepmother Louise, brother Joey and two sisters, Cathy and Patsy.
