Basketball players honored at yearly awards banquet

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers basketball team marked the end of their season by recognizing its players during a recent banquet.

The girls basketball team trailed Skyview High School for the 4A state championship with 13 players in local high school program maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.75.

Two varsity players were also named to the 4A SIC All Conference team with freshmen Adrie Blanksma and Jazzi Cristobal receiving honorable mentions. Cristobal was also named the varsity team's offensive most valuable player, and junior Jacey Carr was named the varsity team's defensive MVP for the second consecutive year.

The following are the players recognized with team awards during the banquet:

Jazzi Cristobal -- varsity offensive MVP

Jacey Carr -- varsity defensive MVP

Emily Cruser -- junior varsity offensive MVP

Keyondra White -- junior varsity defensive MVP

Sarah Miller -- freshman and sophomore team MVP

Ashley Drake -- freshman and sophomore team most improved player

4A SIC all-conference awards -- Adrie Blanksma and Jazzi Cristobal, honorable mentions

The following are the players recognized for maintaining specific grade-point averages this year:

3.25 GPA and above -- Ashten Harrigan and Willow Freer

3.5 GPA and above -- Anyssa Garza

3.75 GPA and above -- Adrie Blanksma, Jazzi Cristobal, Emily Cruser, Ashley Drake, Sophia Harris, Alexis Hiler, Sarah Miller, Keslee Peterson, Elizabeth Ryan, Keyondra White, Jacey Carr, Ryan Floyd, Emalee Pippin and Kjnara Swanson
