Student showcase articles

Friday, February 26, 2016

As part of an in-class writing assignment, students in Topher Wallert's fifth grade classroom at Hacker Middle School were required to produce a basic news story.

In addition to following basic rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation, each student needed to conduct face-to-face interviews as part of their research to complete the language arts assignment.

The Mountain Home News selected stories from two students, based on recommendations from their teacher. This is the newspaper's way of sharing with our readers the unique perspectives of students in the local school district.

To see the two articles, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.
