William Ballenger

William "Bill" E. Ballenger, age 59 of Mountain Home, passed away at his home on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016. No local services will be held with services to be held in Ohio at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

William was born in Springfield, Ohio, on July 1, 1956, the oldest of four children of Richard and Erika Ballenger. William attended South High School and graduated in 1975. He shortly thereafter joined the U.S. Air Force.

William retired from the Air Force in 1994 and joined the U.S. Forest Service, retiring in 2014. William was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sports.

Bill is survived by his parents, Richard and Erika Ballenger of Ohio; his brother, Richard Ballenger Jr. of Ohio; his sister, Carolyne and her husband Marvin Edwards of Ohio; his sister, Susan and her husband Warren Bonnie of Ohio; his nephews, Warren Bonnie II of Mountain Home, Eric Daulton, Job Bonnie, Cody Ballenger, Ethan and his wife Heather Edwards; and his nieces, Brittany Ballenger and Emily Edwards.

The family suggest that donations in Bill's memory be sent to the American Heart Association, Western States Affiliates, P.O. Box 742030, Los Angeles, CA 90074.
