State's gas prices above natl average

The national average for a gallon of gasoline remained below the $2 mark for nearly a month with prices in Mountain Home and other communities across the state showing similar but slower decline, according to a report released by AAA Idaho last week.

With the U.S. average at $1.83 per gallon, fuel prices could head even lower as reduced seasonal demand and falling crude oil prices are combining to send pump prices to the lowest mark in six years, the agency reported.
