Base, community launch partnership project

A community partnership program involving local, state, federal and military officials is expected to yield new levels of cooperation aimed at benefitting Mountain Home, Elmore County and Mountain Home Air Force Base.

A partnership agreement signed last week between city leaders and officials at Mountain Home Air Force Base is expected to help protect southern Idaho's natural resources and environment while combating the effects of climate change.

Two memorandums of understanding signed by representatives from the 366th Fighter Wing and city follows weeks of face-to-face meetings through an effort known as the Air Force Community Partnership, or AFCP, program.
