IDWR looking to form district for water rights holders

The IDWR wants to create a new ground water district in the Mountain Home area. The district will encompass an area from Glenns Ferry to Mayfield and many water right holders will be assess a fee based on the amount of water they use. This map shows the district's proposed boundary lines.

The Idaho Department of Water Resources held a public meeting Jan. 12 to discuss the formation of a new water district in the Mountain Home area.

More than 100 people attended the meeting regarding the proposed water district and to provide testimony and feedback to state officials.
