Josefina Herrera Rojas

Josefina Herrera Rojas of Hammett, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her sleep while surrounded by her family Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at St. Luke's Elmore Hospital. She was 87 years old.

She was born March 8, 1928, in Oaxaca, Mexico, to Maximino Herrera and Maria Gonzales. At the age of 16, she met her husband, Juan C. Rojas.

They were married for 54 years and were blessed with one daughter, Juanita Valdivia. She enjoyed family gatherings and the company of her grandchildren as well as spending time outdoors.

Josefina is survived by her son-in-law, Serafin Valdivia; five granddaughters, Elisa (Efrain) Amador, Alicia Lahmon, Carolina Velazquez, Eveline (Jamie) Lopez, and Norma Judy (Carlos) Trejo. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan, and her only daughter.

A memorial Mass in Josefina's honor begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Our Lady of Limerick Catholic Church in Glenns Ferry. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
