Ferenc "Frank" Edes, 75, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 20, 2016. Frank was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Emod, Hungary, to Piroska and Peter Edes.

Frank immigrated to the United States in 1959 and made Chicago, Ill., his home. He met the love of his life, Gizella, at a picnic in 1959, and they were married on May 20, 1961.

Frank and Gizella moved to Bolingbrook, Ill., in 1963, and became one of the city's founding families. Frank worked over 35 years in the Paper and Abrasive Converting industry. In his chosen career, Frank worked his way up to becoming the Vice President of Manufacturing.

Besides work, Frank had many interests, such as golf, ping-pong, learning how to fly small airplanes, and politics. While living in Bolingbrook, Frank helped elect others to office and served as both a Village Trustee and as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

When Frank and Gizella moved to Mountain Home in 2001, Frank once again became involved in politics. He became the Chairman of the Elmore County Republican Party and was an active participant in party activities.

Although Frank was semi-retired, he could not just sit by and relax -- he decided to drive school buses for the Mountain Home schools. Frank also found time to teach golf to Special Olympians, deliver meals to seniors and was an active member of the Citizens on Patrol program.

Frank will join his parents; three brothers, Peter, Geza, and Gyula; and his son, Peter, in Heaven.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Gizella; daughter Rosemarie Stange and her husband Michael of San Antonio, Texas; son Ronald Edes and his wife Donna of Plainfield, Ill.; five grandchildren, Michael, Erik, Jason, Allison and Carla; one great-grandson, Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all remember Frank's life and legacy fondly.

A memorial service will be held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home, on Jan. 27, 2016, at 2 p.m., and inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice in Frank's name.
