Train collides with semi truck

The semi trailer was dragged along the tracks until the westbound train could come to a stop.

The driver of a semi truck was reportedly injured following a collision with a Union Pacific train Friday morning.

The crash was reported at 10:29 p.m. near the intersection of Ditto Creek and Cinder Cone roads.

According to information gathered at the scene, the semi ran the stop sign at the intersection and continued over the railroad crossing when the trailer was struck by the westbound train. The force of the collision caused the semi and trailer to detach with the trailer dragged approximately a mile down the tracks before the train was able to stop.
