MLK prayer breakfast set

Pastor Truman Parker will be the guest speaker at this year's MLK prayer breakfast.

People in the Mountain Home community will reflect on the legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his call for Americans to serve others during an event scheduled for Jan. 16.

Sponsored by the Mountain Home Community Black History Committee, this year's Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. that morning at the Elks Lodge, 325 South 3rd West St.

Doors open to the public at 7:30 a.m., and the dress is business casual. Tickets are available from members of the local Black History committee, and reservations are due by Jan 14.
