Fire department issues advisory on space heater use

With winter temperatures continuing to blanket southern Idaho and could possibly drop to the coldest levels of the season, the Mountain Home Fire Department reminded local residents to use common sense and caution when heating their homes.

City fire marshal Brian Reed said the city firehouse responds to more home and structural fires during the winter than any other season, and most of those fires are directly tied to heating or cooking activities.
