Sharon "Sis" Rae Meckel passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015.

She was born on April 18, 1956, in Mountain Home, Idaho, to Dolores and Hurley "Bud" Robison. From the day she was born, we knew that Sis was going to be one of a kind.

Sis attended Mountain Home High School where she was active in drill team and was a member of the Honor Society. After graduation, Sis worked at various jobs all related to banking and/or accounting. Sis' only son, Jason Wood, was born while she lived in Mountain Home.

Sis married Steve Meckel in 1986, and they recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. Sis and Steve travelled the country during his career with the U.S. Navy, and upon his retirement, settled permanently in Arlington, Texas.

She was a huge NASCAR fan, loved to bowl, read and spend time with her pets, which she loved dearly. Sis enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Sis was known for her quick wit and smart mouth that got her into trouble more than once. Many will never forget her big laugh and endless smile. She will be missed greatly by many.

In lieu of a formal service, a celebration of her life and open house will be held at Legion Post 101, 715 South 3rd West St., Mountain Home, Idaho, on Friday, Jan. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Sis is survived by her son, Jason Wood, and his wife, Leslie; her mother, Dolores Robison; her sister, Karen Echeverria; her brother, Tom Robison, and his wife, Wendy; five nieces; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Bub Robison.
