Wrestlers pin wins at Skyview event

The Mountain Home Tigers wrestling teams dominated the mats during a pair of decisive wins at the Skyview wrestling tournament Dec. 2.

The varsity wrestlers earned seven wins by fall at the event as they grappled their way to a 65-24 victory.

Those earning wins by fall were Hunter McCluskey in the 106-pound weight class, Pierce Mederios at 113, Kanoa Doronio at 120, Dylan Park in the 138, Alex Castro at 145, Andrew Thornburg in the 160 class, Jayden Sexton at 170 and Taylor Ogaard in the 195.

In addition, Dallas Mayhew won by technical fall in the 132 weight class. Brad Keierleber won by forfeit at the 152 class with Jose Ortiz winning by forfeit in the 285.

The junior varsity squad dominated the mats at the Skyview event with 14 wrestlers walking away with wins by fall on their way to a lopsided 87-12 victory. Austin Tetrault dominated the competition in the 152 weight class, winning two matches by falls.

Others winning by fall were Gavin Hazell at the 106; Troy Elliott and Hunter Thornberg at 126; Tyler Hardin, Henry Bergstohl and Camerin Kindle in the 145; Jake Pruit, Tyler Durham and Jonathon Sprain in the 160 category; Hayden Keierleber and Juan Rangel at 220; and Michael Hopson and Brandon Rogers in the 285 weight class. Meanwhile, Brandon Wussow won by decision in the 113 weight class.
