WECRD ends long-term contract with YMCA

A long-standing contract between the Treasure Valley YMCA and Western Elmore County Recreation District ended last week while construction officially began on a community recreation center in Mountain Home.

During a special meeting Nov. 30, the recreation district board voted to dissolve the contract that it originally established with the YMCA back in 2009 as a way to develop recreation programs in the local community.
