Idaho National Guard proposes cuts

The Edgemede National Guard complex in Mountain Home is home to a Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System, or TUAS, maintenance facility in addition to a warehouse area that serves as a readiness center for the local National Guard unit.

The Idaho National Guard readiness complex in Mountain Home is expected to continue serving soldiers in the years to come while others across the state are expected to close under a plan unveiled on Friday.

For the third year, the Idaho Army National Guard submitted a proposal to Congress that would result in not only modernizing National Guard facilities but also reducing the number of these armories, commonly known as readiness centers.
