Letter to the Editor

America seems to be living within the wrong 'time zone'

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Dear editor,

I walk out the door every morning wondering where our country went; how did it get hijacked right out from under us? Why are we so willing to "compromise" and "accept" what our parents, grandparents and founding fathers would not? We're paying a monumental price for it too, with more to come.

Obama's bringing Arabs in by the thousands. Apparently, "future Democrats from Mexico" aren't enough yet. And, of course, they're all being "vetted' as they come in (wink-wink).

I know. Most of our own families were once immigrants. Yes. One at a time through Ellis Island.

Ronald Reagan was once asked by a reporter why he left the Democrat Party. "I never left the Democrat party" he replied. "The Democrat party left ME."

That's exactly how I feel today as a once proud Republican. As a betrayed ex-Democrat, "Uncle Ronnie" at least had someplace to go. I do not, and our side is turning as corrupt as theirs.

The only bad thing about Boenner leaving is that he isn't taking McConnell WITH him. Yes, yes, Reid and Pelosi, but you EXPECT that from them; not from OUR side. When you finally have BOTH Houses, you no longer have to cater to the "king," but they've continued to do it anyway.

In a blatant waste of time, I watched whatever that was in Las Vegas the other night, and even with an 18-19 trillion dollar debt now, they STILL blame Bush for it. Easier I guess, than trying to alibi their own failed administration.

Speaking of Bush, I recall those 16-month "countdown to leaving office" calendars we saw and chuckled at in every retail store in America. Remember those? Sure ya' do. So, where are the OBAMA ones?

No? Oh that's right. That would be "racist" wouldn't it?

Hey, can you even remotely picture Putin ordering Reagan to back off and get out of his way?

A major difference between myself and the local liberals around here is that I've always been willing to acknowledge that WE have bums in office. The Dems do not of course. They're all perfect. Nobody lies, cheats or steals on their side of the fence.

In the "big picture," I still like Trump, especially where our economy is concerned, but the "wall" is a stupid idea. We need to protect our borders the same way Area 51 protects THEIRS. I've personally driven the dirt roads to the warning signs at 51 that authorize lethal force.

I've exchanged stares with the "Camo dudes" at 50 yards in their trucks, motors still running with black helicopters in sight. They are not "politically correct," and that's good.

Put same signs in "Espaņol" all along the borders, guarded by Marines & Army, given free reign to shoot anybody sneaking in." Wouldn't take long at all for the invasion to stop.

And don't give me this "humanity" garbage. If our government is willing to shoot AMERICAN CITIZENS to protect the sovereignty of a base that "doesn't exist," we can certainly guard a country that DOES.

Cost of hiring more border security? None really, since we're ALREADY paying the salaries of our troops. We'd just keep them all here in the states protecting OUR shores instead of foreign shores, which our Constitution doesn't call for in the first place. Keep the politicians out of it. This is OUR country too, ya' know. Well, it USED to be anyway.
