Charles A. "Luke" Lucas, age 87 of Bruneau, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at his home in Bruneau. Per his request, no formal services will be held.

A reception for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at the Rimrock Senior Center in Grand View. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Luke was a very quiet thinker and loved being outdoors -- an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, rock hound and geo-cacher. He enjoyed woodworking as most of the grandchildren have something he made for them.

In his relaxing times, he enjoyed playing his guitar and mandolin for family and friends. We all knew that when he spoke you had better listen.

Luke, you will be missed tremendously and know that you will have prepared a place for us to join you when it's our time. Have a great time hunting with your brother, and know when the time comes, we will have a great reunion.

Luke is survived by his wife, Jackie Lucas of Grand View; sons Wesley and his wife, Karen Lucas of Boise; Martin and his wife, Malai Lindell of Grand View; Leif and his wife, Shelby Lindell of Boise; Kirk and his wife, Patricia Lindell of Missouri; Eric Lindell and Diane of Boise; Steven MacMillan of Mountain Home; his daughters, Jennifer and her husband, John Davidson of North Carolina; Mandy Latchu of Mountain Home; his sisters, Clara White of Ohio and Lois Gomillion of Mississippi; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Lucas, a brother, a sister, a daughter in law and one grandson.

Memorials can be sent to Disabled American Veterans, 444 West Fort St., Boise, ID 83702 or Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
