Local Optimist teams struggle

Mountain Home's Optimist football teams struggled on the gridiron with one falling in post-regulation play as the season entered its second week on Saturday.

Inventive Products of Mountain Home trailed CM Company, 8-30, as the 12 year olds battled it out in the senior division.

Eleven year olds in the junior division came up short as United Metals of Mountain Home suffered a 0-28 shutout against Stonehenge. Meanwhile, Thrifty Auto Sales of Mountain Home lost in double over time, 16-24, against Raven.

Mountain Home's 10 year old players in the sophomore division faced a pair of shutouts as the Fighting Irish fell to the Badgers, 0-32, while Sunview Dairies was edged by Dicks Sporting Goods, 0-8.

In freshman league action on Saturday, Tripl T Services of Mountain Home lost to Middleton Blue, 6-28.

Mountain Home's only tied game happened in the rookie league as IWS Motor Coaches knotted the score against Cunnington Associates, 6-6.

Flag football action on Saturday saw Taco John's of Mountain Home go up against Freedom Kuna while Mountain Home's Tech Assault Firearms faced Kida Kuna.

Sports officials don't track scores from these flag football youth contests.
