Support from Mountain Home's Elks

Sunday, August 23, 2015
Mountain Home Junior Golf was selected as this year's primary target group and received a donation of more than $5,800. This money was used to purchase youth golf learning system known as SNAG, which introduces children to the sport starting as early as third grade.

During a pair of presentations last month, representatives from the Mountain Home Elks Lodge presented nearly $9,000 in financial support to a pair of local sports organizations. The lodge raised the money during the sixth annual golf tournament held in June at the Desert Canyon Golf Course. This year's event raised more than $11,000 with the majority of those proceeds benefitting local youth programs.

The Elmore County Special Olympics received a donation of more than $2,900. This is the third consecutive year that a portion of the proceeds from the golf tournament has been donated to the Special Olympics. These funds are used for training, athletic competitions, and health screenings for Mountain Home's High Hopes athletes. The remaining funds raised will allow the Elks to continue other work within the community.

Isn't nice that we have a Recreation District and yet other organizations are finding ways to raise funds for recreation? Way to go Elks Lodge by showing that you truly care about our community.
