Crossing guards at each school are responsible for helping students safely cross streets at designated locations. Drivers are urged to remain vigilant around schools as children make the daily trek to and from these buildings.

School zones will be active and enforced, said Mountain Home Police Department spokesperson Officer Melanie Broughton.

Classes in the local school district began Monday with a half day of class with the first full day on Tuesday.
