Jerre Cresse

Jerre Cresse, 84 of Mountain Home, died after a brief illness on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 at a local hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Rost Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, 500 North 18th East St., Mountain Home.

Jerre was born Nov. 6, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa., to C. Stephen and Anita H. Cresse. He graduated from High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1949 and then attended the University of Florida before joining the Air Force.

He met his wife, Barbara, at Randolph Air Force Base, and they were married at Lackland Air Force Base on Aug. 10, 1956. Jerre and Barbara had three sons, Steve, Dave and Bill.

Jerre was a devoted brother, husband, and father. He served for 20 years in the USAF, including in the Korean and Vietnamese Wars. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Barbara.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, wife Barbara and son David. He is survived by sister, Jacqueline Boring; sister in law and brother in law, Elizabeth and Ralph Short; son William and daughter-in-law Ktrina; and son, Steve and daughter-in-law Karen; and two granddaughters, Emma and Quinn.
