Reenie Burgess

Reenie Burton Burgess, 85 of Las Vegas, Nev., died July 14, 2015, at Heritage Springs nursing home. Reenie was born March 1, 1930, in Italian Canyon, Nev., to Bob Burton and Nora Hall Burton.

Reenie was married to Lt. Col. Charles Burgess for many years. She traveled abroad with her husband, Charles, to many interesting countries. Reenie loved the outdoors which included hunting, fishing and trap shooting.

She was an excellent cook and loved having dinner parties. Reenie loved canning jams and jellies and anything else she could preserve.

Reenie was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1958.

Reenie is survived by her sisters and brother, Amy Geehloed, Rose Duncan, Pearl Berry, Betty Koska, Gloria Jean Cookson and Jack Burton. There are also many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.

Her father, Bob Burton, and mother, Nora Hall Burton; sister Irene Weiss; brothers Bobby, Robert, James, Billy and Russell Burton; and husband, Lt. Col. Charles Burgess, preceded in her death.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Battle Mountain Tribal Administrative Bldg. 37 Mountain View, Battle Mountain, Nev. Reenie will be missed by many.
