A desire to 'soar'

Jacob Glenn showcases his skills during this year's Open Soar competition, which wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Richard Aguirre Park. Skate enthusiasts from Mountain Home and surrounding communities gathered at the community park in hopes of earning top honors during the three-day event. Glenn went on to take top honors in the S.K.A.T.E. Games category.
Aidan Drake from Meridian is one of many competitors making their return to Open Soar. "This is my fifth or sixth year I have been skating and I enjoy coming to this competition," said Drake, who competed in the Game of Skate event. The 13-year-old compared it to a game of H.O.R.S.E. In basketball where competitors take turns performing tricks with the others trying to best that performance.
