Property taxes due by June 22

Saturday, June 13, 2015

The second installment of property taxes for those living in Elmore County are due by June 20 with payments accepted until 5 p.m. June 22.

A notification outlining the amount owed for those who own real property, mobile home and personal property taxes were recently mailed by the county treasurer along with information on any delinquencies in these payments.

Since the June 20 deadline falls on a weekend, the county extended the submission deadline until June 22. Payments received after that date are assessed a late charge and interest from Jan. 1.

Those making payments by mail are asked to ensure they have a postmark by June 22. However, people can expedite the process by bringing their tax stub or reminder card to the courthouse and make payments there.

People can make partial payments at any time on any current or delinquent taxes. However, the payment is applied to the oldest delinquency where applicable.

For more information, call the county tax office at 587-2138, extension 501.
