4/13/1916 -- 5/22/2015

Debora Mae Hansen died peacefully at The Cottages Rest Home in Garden City, Idaho, on Friday, May 22, 2015, of natural causes. She was 99 years old.

Debora was raised in Albion and Rupert, Idaho, as one of 12 children. In 1934, Debora married Lloyd M. Hansen, and they were married for 69 years before Lloyd's death in 2004.

Debora and Lloyd lived in Black's Creek Ranch in Mayfield, Idaho, raising cattle and their four children. After 21 years, they sold that ranch and purchased a number of ranches north of Mountain Home, Idaho. One of the ranches was Canyon Creek Stage Station.

Debora went to work turning the Stage Stop into a gorgeous home without changing the original structure. She stood on a ladder and hand chinked the building which kept it from complete collapse in a later fire. If she had not done this, the station could not be restored by the historical society who is trying to do so now.

Debora had a painting studio where she painted many cherished pictures. Around this time, she became an avid golfer, absolutely loving the game. She and Lloyd donated to improve the Mountain Home Golf Course. She golfed south in the winter (Yuma, Ariz., and Mesquite, Nev.).

Debora traveled throughout Europe and Canada. She was loved by everyone who knew her and has many namesakes. She passed on her artistic talent to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful woman and mother who will be missed forever.

Debora had four children, 15 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Lloyd, son, John, granddaughter, Ingrid, and nephew, Eric. She is survived by her son, Darrell Hansen (Boise, Idaho); son Richard and Jenneal Hansen (Mountain Home, Idaho); daughter Phyllis and Tim Hoyt (Marysville, Ohio).

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Debora's name to Mountain Home Animal Shelter, 295 N.W. Elm Crest, Mountain Home, ID 83647.
