BLM reopens fire-stricken range land near Mtn. Home

Areas that reopened on Saturday are designated in this map. The range land remained closed to the public for nearly two years after the Elk and Pony Complex fires swept through the areas back in 2013.

Two years after a pair of range fires caused heavy damage to range land north of Mountain Home, the Bureau of Land Management reopened some of these areas on Saturday.

More than 54,000 acres of BLM-managed public land affected by the Pony and Elk fires were made available to non-motorized entry.
