Sue Gross was at the top of the list of people named to head the city's economic development office when it opened in 1989.

Neatly stacked on the desk were decades of memories that Sue Gross had collected from all the memorable moments during her career. Opening a folder, she found a city guide from the 1970s when Mountain Home's population was just 7,500 people. The mementoes that Sue had collected over the past quarter of a century were just a snapshot look at her career with the city. On Friday, she began passing this knowledge to others as she marked her last day with the city's economic development office.

Sue never expected that she and her family would choose to settle down and make Mountain Home their permanent home. It was her husband, John, that actually set things in motion.
