Extension office outlines methods to protect bees

As efforts continue this month to control mosquitoes across the county, local officials outlined ways that people can avoid harming honey bees that wander into their property.

This is the time of year that bees swarm in search of a new hive. Swarming is the process where a new honey bee colony is formed when the queen bee leaves the hive with a large group of worker bees.
