Wrestlers, basketball squads unleash 'carnage'

Mountain Home High School's wrestling team put the hurt on the basketball squad during the opening round of this year's Carnage on the Courts competition. The wrestlers posted 83 unanswered points in the opening round.

Just days after both teams returned home with state-level honors, Mountain Home High School's basketball and wrestling teams met March 18 for an evening of friendly competition.

The yearly Carnage on the Courts in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium pitted the wizards of the hardwood and masters of the mat in a pair of competitions aimed at highlighting their athletic specialities.

The masters of the hardwood cut the point deficit to just 28 in the opening half of the basketball contest and maintained a narrow edge as they posted a 104-102 victory.
