The Mountain Home Tigers were blanked by Bishop Kelly in girls and boys conference matches at Bishop Kelly last Thursday. Bishop Kelly won both matches, 7-0.

In girls singles, Kira Anderson lost the first singles match, 1-6, 0-6. Tia Senger was blanked, 0-6, 0-6, in second singles as was Anna Urquidi in the third match.

In girls doubles, Kaycee Crockett and Mariah Butori lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6, and Melinna Grimmius and Kierianna Chavez lost the second match, 0-6, 1-6.

In boys singles, Eddie Guadarrama lost the first singles match, 0-6, 0-6. Nathan Gibbons lost the second match 0-6, 1-6, and Thomas Fatzlinger dropped the third match by the same score.

In boys doubles, Dalton Barker and Jarek Schetzle were blanked, 0-6, 0-6, in the first match, and Marc Pelletier and Alex Bucholz dropped the second match, 2-6, 1-6.

In mixed doubles, Miguel Pelletier and Samantha Feekes lost the first match, 1-6, 1-6, and David Trouten and Ariel Jares were blanked, 0-6, 0-6, in the second match.

"Our kids were competitive, in that the Knights had to rally a lot to get the points, but in the end, it was just a little better footwork and stroke skill by the Knights that won the points," said Tigers tennis coach Tamzy House.

"This year, the Knights new tennis center, featuring eight courts, was available," Coach House added. "Coupled with their four older courts, the teams were able to use 12 courts to finish their official team play rather quickly. After that, the Tigers and Knights joined together to play 'pick-up sets' for fun. The kids had three hours of tennis in fantastic weather and on great courts, then add a team dinner. They had a memorable trip."

The Tigers have this week off for spring break, returning to action Tuesday at home against Skyview in conference action.
