Idaho Guard participating in Persian Gulf exercise

A contingent of six A-10 Thunderbolts and more than 120 airmen from the Idaho Air National Guard at Gowen Field arrived in the Persian Gulf to participate in a series of coalition exercises in the region.

The exercises allow Air Force units to sharpen combat air skills, enhance procedures for sustained operations at non-U.S. bases and improve interoperability between coalition air forces, Air Force officials said.
