Step by step, seven representatives from the Mountain Home Fire Department tackled a yearly challenge that ultimately will help in an ongoing quest to find a cure for cancer.

The firefighters were among the more than 1,700 individuals competing in the 24th Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb, held Sunday at the Columbia Center in Seattle.

Representing Mountain Home at this year's event were Chris Corbus, Danny Downen, Ty Larsen, Bud Corbus, Edie Corbus, Elsa Guillen and Chuck Vanmeer.
