Paul F. Flood, 70, of King Hill, passed away Dec. 27, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at the VFW Hall in Glenns Ferry. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Paul was born July 19, 1944, to Charles and Hazel Flood. Paul was raised in Mullan, Idaho. Following graduation from high school he attended vocational training for heavy equipment operation.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam conflict until he was honorably discharged in April 1971.

Paul married Mary Grzan on Oct. 25, 1972. Mary preceded him in death in 1997. Paul had no biological children. He had four step-children: Beverly (K.C. Duerig) Soggs of King Hill; Tony Grzan of Martinsburg, W. Va.; Susan (Stan) Weeks of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and Mary Ivanoff of Laramie, Wyo. He had seven grandchildren: Aaron Soggs, Trevor Soggs, Stephen Weeks, Christopher Morris, Ayzlynn Hammond and Lucas Ivanoff.

In typical fashion, his favorite family joke was to reassure Ayzlynn, his only granddaughter, that she was his favorite granddaughter.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Sonny, and his sister, Joyce.

He is survived by a sister, Cathy Givens, of Seattle, Wash.

Paul worked for the Glenns Ferry Highway District for 31 years, retiring in 2004.

Like all Irishmen, he loved a good story with friends over a glass of beer.

In lieu of memorials, the family requests donations to the Glenns Ferry Disaster Fund care of Cindy Wilde, P.O. Box 351, Glenns Ferry, ID 83623.
